May 7. Hoi An to Prao. 118km.
I met up in the morning with my friend Rosie who had organised to take an easy rider tour to Hue from Hoi An, over two days. Easy riders are everywhere throughout Vietnam, offering to ferry people around the country on the back of a motorbike - great for those who cannot ride. I took the opportunity to follow a guide that knew the area to see a slightly different side of riding and it was well worth it.
The road up to Prao was awesome. Riding through the little towns along the way all of the kids would stop and wave with massive smiles on their faces. I even managed to give a high five to a few kids as I rode past - it was their idea!

Along the way, we stopped at the Ngam Doi waterfall. I wasnt planning on getting in the water, but after getting hailed over for a few beers by some local guys who were all sitting around in the water drinking, I really couldn't say no!
We continued on to the tiny town of Prao - our stopover for the night. There wasn't exactly a lot to do. We had a very tasty meal from the hotel and played cards for a little before crashing out early for the next days riding.

May 8. Prao to Hue. 163km.
Riding the Ho Chi Minh trail for the first time was incredible. The road itself was so much fun - a lot of braking and leaning through the corners - but the landscape you can see along the way is just another level again. Rolling mountains for days.
There is little point writing about my ride on the Ho Chi Minh; just watch my video below!
